About Kate

I’m Kate, a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario), Certified Clinical Supervisor CCPA (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association), and the founder of Insight-Online.

I’m proud to say that Insight-Online offers psychotherapy through a team of skilled independent contractors, who realize that life can present difficult transitions, losses, and trauma (including childhood, vicarious and moral injury) that can result in anxiety, trauma, burnout, or depression.

We realize that exploring painful experiences and feelings isn’t easy, but you don’t have to do it alone. We can help you with identity exploration, neurodiversity concerns, and help you understand, who you were, who you are, and who you want to be.

We work with clients who may feel successful in their professions yet feel unfulfilled in their personal lives. Perhaps you are re-evaluating your priorities or grappling with exhaustion, stress, or feelings of detachment.

In our sessions, we’ll examine how life patterns, current relationships, and family dynamics impact your well-being, working through grief, loss, anxiety, trauma, and depression to foster a healthier present and future.

Together, we can dive into the roots of your stress, burnout, and feelings of inadequacy, working towards a more balanced and authentic life.

After 20 years of working as a therapist, my primary focus is now on clinical supervision, training, course creation, and the development of therapists at all stages of their careers.

At insight online we supervise interns, RP (Qualifying), RPs, and other mental health professionals who are looking to deepen their clinical work beyond symptom management and into more transformational, depth-oriented practice.

Our supervision model is neuroscience-informed and learning-based, integrating attachment theory, relational psychotherapy, and neuro-psychodynamic approaches.

We support therapists in understanding not just what to do in session, but how change actually occurs in the brain and nervous system. This includes working with concepts from neuropsychoanalysis, including the seven emotional systems (Panksepp & Solms), and helping therapists track affect, unconscious patterns, defences, and relational dynamics in real time.

Supervision at Insight-Online is both experiential and conceptual.

We Focus On

  • Developing in-session skills grounded in relational attunement
  • Understanding client presentations through attachment and predictive models
  • Working with transference and countertransference as central mechanisms of change
  • Moving from surface-level interventions to deeper emotional and unconscious processes
  • Strengthening the therapist’s use of self (SEUS) as a clinical instrument
  • Helping therapists integrate the deeper work/techniques of psychodynamic psychotherapy with CBT, DBT, IFS, SF, Mindfulness, EFT, to name only a few.
  • Attending to cultural and systemic power dynamics within the therapeutic relationship and broader context
  • Supporting the development of the therapist’s own professional identity and voice
  • Helping therapists strengthen their couples, family, teen, and adult client work
  • Our approach is rooted in the belief that the therapeutic relationship is the primary vehicle of change, and that therapists benefit from supervision that is not only supportive but also intellectually rigorous and clinically transformative.

Whether you are an emerging therapist building confidence or an experienced clinician seeking to deepen your work, my goal is to help you think more clearly, feel more confidently in session, and work more effectively at the level where lasting change happens.

In addition to supervision, I continue to oversee Insight-Online as a training-informed practice, where therapists are supported in providing thoughtful, ethical, and high-quality care to clients navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, grief, and life transitions.
