“Only in quiet waters do things mirror themselves undistorted. Only in a quiet mind is adequate perception of the world.” – Hans Margolius

Welcome! I’m Mahz (she/her), a therapist who has a passion for hearing people’s life stories; it is one of the driving forces behind my passion for psychotherapy. My aim is to compassionately facilitate unraveling and understanding these stories and patterns in meaningful ways, creating space for you to live more joyfully and authentically.

A range of emotions and life experiences can prompt us to seek therapy. You may be feeling stressed, anxious, lost, grieving, or struggling with substance use, or perhaps you’re dealing with other difficult emotions. Perhaps you’re having existential questions or hoping to gain more self-awareness. Whatever brings you here, I’m honored to support you in reaching your goals and celebrating your progress.

I Work With

Therapy Modalities

I strive to create a space where you feel safe and comfortable to express yourself freely. My approach is genuine and down-to-earth, respecting your unique preferences and cultural backgrounds. I approach our work with humility, honoring your inner wisdom and agency. My goal is to help you feel secure enough in your environments and within yourself, so you can express your true self openly.

As Maryam Hasnaa beautifully said: “A healer does not heal you. A healer is someone who holds space for you while you awaken your inner healer, so that you may heal yourself.” I view psychotherapy as a powerful tool for self-discovery, navigating transitions, shedding unhelpful patterns, and moving toward a more creative and empowered life.

My practice is person-centered and trauma-attuned, prioritizing nervous system regulation to cultivate a sense of security at a pace that feels right for you. I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on multiple modalities to find what best supports your unique needs.

A Little About Me

When I’m not in the virtual office, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, including my beloved fur-companions. I love forest walks, observing animals in their element, listening to jazz, reading, and cooking.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Support

With over six years of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals diagnosed with ASD and their families, I have had the privilege of working with children, youth, and adults. Additionally, I bring a year of experience working with diverse populations facing various mental health challenges. My services include individual, couple, and family counseling.

I look forward to the possibility of working together and supporting you on your journey.
