Offering Virtual Therapy Throughout Ontario

Virtual Online Psychotherapy, Counselling, and Teletherapy formats have been on the rise since the Global Pandemic hit in early 2020.  Today, we see physicians and other health care and mental health practitioners providing high-quality health care without the need for clients to attend an appointment in a brick and mortar setting. The American Psychological Association (2021) states, "Online Therapy is here to stay." We at Insight-Online agree primarily because we believe this modality can help to remove some of the obstacles that in-office therapy may have.

The American Psychological Association (2021) states, "Online Therapy is here to stay." We at Insight-Online agree primarily because we believe this modality can help to remove some of the obstacles that in-office therapy may such as

  • Transportation difficulties

  • Shortage of mental health practitioners

  • Missed time at work (how about a lunchtime session?)

  • More access for those who live in remote areas of the province

  • Childcare costs

  • Physical challenges that make in-person attendance difficult

  • High-priced counselling costs

In addition, with today's technology, Online Therapy is confidential and offers a level of convenience that has not been possible before.  At Insight-Online, we use PHIPA (personal health information protection act) friendly web platforms that are based entirely in Canada, to ensure our conversations are kept private. We also follow the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario's (CRPO's) electronic practice requirements.  However, online therapy is not for everyone.  Those with severe mental health challenges or those in Crisis may require supports that distance therapy cannot offer. We recommend you consider the pros and cons of online therapy here and feel free to connect if you want more information on how we can support you using distant therapy modalities.

"A clear, deep, and sometimes sudden understanding of a complicated problem or situation, or the ability to have such an understanding" (OED online, 2023).

Our Services

Clinical Supervision

I have been supervising practicum students at Wilfrid Laurier University's Psychotherapy Program since 2017.  I am qualified as a clinical supervisor through the CRPO. I work with students, RPQs, and fully qualified therapists looking for clinical consultation. I utilize feminist, multi-cultural, and psychodynamic frameworks emphasizing transference and the use of self in therapy.
