Offering Virtual Therapy Throughout Ontario
Virtual Online Psychotherapy, Counselling, and Teletherapy formats have been on the rise since the Global Pandemic hit in early 2020. Today, we see physicians and other health care and mental health practitioners providing high-quality health care without the need for clients to attend an appointment in a brick and mortar setting. The American Psychological Association (2021) states, "Online Therapy is here to stay." We at Insight-Online agree primarily because we believe this modality can help to remove some of the obstacles that in-office therapy may have.

The American Psychological Association (2021) states, "Online Therapy is here to stay." We at Insight-Online agree primarily because we believe this modality can help to remove some of the obstacles that in-office therapy may such as
Shortage of mental health practitioners
Missed time at work (how about a lunchtime session?)
More access for those who live in remote areas of the province
Physical challenges that make in-person attendance difficult
High-priced counselling costs
In addition, with today's technology, Online Therapy is confidential and offers a level of convenience that has not been possible before. At Insight-Online, we use PHIPA (personal health information protection act) friendly web platforms that are based entirely in Canada, to ensure our conversations are kept private. We also follow the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario's (CRPO's) electronic practice requirements. However, online therapy is not for everyone. Those with severe mental health challenges or those in Crisis may require supports that distance therapy cannot offer. We recommend you consider the pros and cons of online therapy here and feel free to connect if you want more information on how we can support you using distant therapy modalities.

We can walk beside you on this journey and support you through life, career, and relationship transitions that may be affecting your mood.
Stress, Anxiety, Trauma Support
Are you feeling stressed, exhausted, burned out, and run down? Have you been exposed to trauma through your work as a front-line professional? No matter your profession, the pandemic has left many of us all feeling unsettled and anxious. Insight oriented practices, stress reduction, and trauma-informed support can help support you navigate through these challenging times.
Relationships provide us with love and support, but can also be a challenge. We can explore your romantic relationships, friendships, family connections, or workplace relationships with an eye toward boundary setting, strengthening intimacy and attachments, or working through relationship loss.
Family of Origin Work
Early childhood trauma, also known as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE), relating to childhood issues, abuse, neglect, or feelings of abandonment can leave us struggling in our current relationships. We can help you to work through some of these family-of-origin issues so your current life and relationships can be more peaceful, meaningful, and empowering.
People keep saying we are Post-Pandemic now, but are we really? We often think about what life was like back Pre-Covid. Many of us are still dealing with what we call Ambiguous Loss and Grief and Covid is in no way over for many. We survived and are still putting one foot in front of the other, but we are still feeling lost, disconnected, lonely, and exhausted. Some of us have had Covid, while others supported those who had it. No matter your experience we are here to support your healing.
Do you look after others, but always put yourself last? Have you lost yourself? Are you a caregiver to someone with intellectual or physical challenges, or are you living in the sandwich generation, caring for aging parents and your own children at the same time? We at Insight have professional and personal experience in these areas and can walk by your side to support you as you work toward finding yourself again
More and more these days it is hard to find support for seniors as they journey through life stage transitions. Loss of a spouse, retirement, health changes, moving residences, and new social & family roles can be stressful. These circumstances can affect one’s identity, sense of meaning and purpose, belonging, self-esteem, and wellbeing. We can offer you a safe non-judgemental space to work life's challenges.

I have been supervising practicum students at Wilfrid Laurier University's Psychotherapy Program since 2017. I am qualified as a clinical supervisor through the CRPO. I work with students, RPQs, and fully qualified therapists looking for clinical consultation. I utilize feminist, multi-cultural, and psychodynamic frameworks emphasizing transference and the use of self in therapy.
