Overview: Part 2 of this workshop focuses on applying the knowledge of the seven emotional brain systems in clinical sessions. These systems—Rage, Lust, Panic/Grief, Fear, Seeking, Play, and Care—are central to understanding emotional responses and behaviours. The session provides insights into identifying and working with the target brain systems in clinical presentations, such as symptoms and defences, to enhance therapeutic outcomes. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how neuroplasticity and targeted therapeutic repetition contribute to long-lasting change in clients.
This workshop equips therapists with practical tools to integrate the emotional brain systems framework into their sessions, fostering improved client outcomes.

Pamela Loughton, MA, MDiv, AHPCE, PhD (candidate), RP
Pamela is a highly experienced Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with over 15 years in the field. Currently completing her PhD at Wilfrid Laurier University, her research focuses on dying at home. Pamela is also a Death and Grief Educator with a specialization in ambiguous loss, bringing a unique depth of knowledge and empathy to her practice and teaching.
