About Susan
Before pursuing her career as a psychotherapist, Susan concluded a 15-year tenure in
finance. Susan is a graduate of The Centre for Training in Psychotherapy (CTP), a
training institute specializing in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy. Susan has
20+ years of experience as a therapist and has focused on clinical supervision training
for the past 7 years.
She graduated from The Centre for Training in Psychotherapy in 2012. Post-graduation
Susan served as the Assistant Registrar for the CTP training community from 2012 to
2015, where she provided administrative oversight for supervisees. In 2012, Susan was elected to the Board of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT).
Soon after Susan was retained by Canada Curriculum Services as a psychotherapy training program reviewer for the CRPO institutional qualification process. This experience served to broaden her knowledge of training curriculum beyond her psychodynamic modality.
In 2021, Susan collaborated with the Toronto Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis (TICP)’s Board of Directors to launch their student community clinic. In addition to developing the clinic’s guidelines, Susan developed a comprehensive 30-hour
training curriculum for both senior faculty supervisors and Registered Psychotherapists
beginning to practice supervision. Now well established, the TICP student clinic continues to offer affordable in-person psychodynamic therapy by interns for up to three years.
