Psychological Care & Covid Recovery

People keep saying we are Post-Pandemic now, but are we really? We often think about what life was like back Pre-Covid. Many of us are still dealing with what we call Ambiguous Loss and Grief and Covid is in no way over for many. We survived and are still putting one foot in front of the other, but we are still feeling lost, disconnected, lonely, and exhausted. Some of us have had Covid, while others supported those who had it. No matter your experience we are here to support your healing with post covid anxiety as well.

Neuropsychotherapy

Neuropsychotherapy and brain-based modalities are talk-based forms of support based on the assumption that our brains and neural connections are plastic and thus, can be changed during the counselling or coaching process. Often, losses, emotional wounds, and traumas are stored in our bodies and brains leading us to maintain difficult patterns of behaviour, thoughts and feelings that keep us stuck, leading to depression, anxiety and other forms of suffering

Front-Line and First Responder Support

Those working in the helping professions are exposed to trauma and crisis regularly, it is part of our job, but the pandemic added another layer of trauma where "helpers" were forced to make triage decisions like never before and some of these decisions left them traumatized, wrought with guilt, and even wanting to leave the profession. As a former member of Victim Services, I have professional and personal experience to walk by your side as you process these experiences. I also have leadership training to support your issues around employment.

Career, Professional, & Leadership Support

Do you come home from the end of the work day with little left for yourself and family? Are you struggling with work/life balance or interpersonal conflict at work? I am a Certified Dare to Lead Facilitator through Brené Brown's Dare to Lead Leadership Program, and my goal as a therapist-coach is to help you create a more fulfilling, balanced, and meaningful life and career. I can facilitate goal setting, position transition, or support you through a career change. As I am Registered Psychotherapist these services are covered by many insurance plans.

Psychiatric and Mental Health Diagnoses & Assessments

My practice includes a collaborative partnership with Psychotherapy Matters—a virtual platform that connects therapists and their clients to psychiatrists, making the journey towards recovery less stressful. Psychiatrists are medical doctors that prescribe medication and offer a psychiatric diagnosis. Throughout the process and during these psychiatric consultations, I as your therapist is always present to help you feel comfortable and contribute to the doctor’s evaluation if required. Most clients wait 6-18 months for a psychiatric consult. Because I collaborate with Psychotherapy Matters, your wait is significantly reduced to 6 to 8 weeks. These consultations come with the added convenience of meeting the psychiatrist virtually while in your therapist’s office or your own home. These psychiatric services are covered under OHIP - so there is no fee for to you for this service when you are a client at Insight-Online.

Clinical Supervision (CRPO)

I have been supervising practicum students at Wilfrid Laurier University's Psychotherapy Program since 2015. I am qualified as a clinical supervisor through the CRPO. I work with students, RPQs, and fully qualified therapists looking for clinical consultation. I am a psychoanalyst and psychodynamic therapist and I utilize feminist, multi-cultural, and psychodynamic frameworks emphasizing transference and the use of self in therapy.
